Furnishing Motor Skills
Physical fitness plays an important role in children’s healthy growth and how well students perform academically. The Health and Physical Education Department, strives to instill healthy fitness habits in all students. The school plays an important role in providing an environment to help the students to develop their gross motor skills. We firmly believe that embedding motor skill activities into the school curriculum is so important to help children develop postural control, locomotor skills, and coordination skills. Our students were engaged in various Physical activities like climbing, friendship circle, crossing the hurdles etc. to develop agility, balance and coordination thereby furnishing their gross motor skills. The children were able to maintain an upright posture, participate in physical activities, team building and demonstrate eye-hand coordination skills, which proved to be beneficial for functional learning in school. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity which seemed to be much fun and frolic learning experience.
Creating Eclipses In The Classroom
Experiential learning is the ultimate way to match learning with the practical application, consisting of gaining knowledge and development of skills at the same time. It is oriented towards a strong personal learning experience and capacity development. The school introduced the experiential learning activity that supports students to apply theoretical knowledge into practice, as well as demonstrating the activity in the case study of teaching the topic “Moon and Eclipse” in teaching science. Students were able to understand the concept of the Solar eclipse in an experiential term. The teacher introduced the cause of day and night in the class with the help of science model. The student’s engagement included intellectual, emotional, sensory and proactive engagement in the learning activity. GGHS aims at using a student-centric approach and providing authentic learning experiences by tasks based on real data which results in cognitive as well as motivational benefits for students.
