Being “always on” can be great, as it can help young generation learn and connect with others more easily. But at the same time it has its own downsides. Internet safety or “e safety” has become a fundamental topic in our digital world and includes knowing about one’s Internet privacy and how one’s behaviors can support a healthy interaction with the use of the Internet. To empower the students of Gurugram Global Heights School to be safe on internet, a special assembly was conducted on “SAFER INTERNET DAY” on 11th February, 2020. With a theme of “Create, connect and share respect: a better internet starts with you!” the day called upon all the teachers and students to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all. The students of class VI shared important quotes on how we can think beyond Online Predators and how to be safe on the Internet. Students were provided with valuable awareness regarding the downsides of Internet and how to make it a better and safer place for everyone. The assembly was concluded with the message of the Vice Principal of the school as she said, “Safer Internet Day is a great reminder that Internet security is something that needs constant vigilance. It’s also a great reminder that a lot of bad things can happen on the Internet if you don’t properly take precautions against them. With that in mind, be sure to have a safe and happy Safer Internet Day.
