At Gurugram Global Heights School, we are committed to creating a transparent, safe, and supportive environment for all students and staff.
The primary function of the Grievance Redressal Cell is to address complaints lodged by students and assess their merit. The cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Any student with a genuine grievance may approach the Head of School directly or submit their grievance in writing to the Students’ Grievance Cell or drop their complaints/observations for improvement /redressal in the designated box kept at reception or literary representatives.
Grievance/suggestion boxes are placed at both the Administrative and Academic Blocks. Students may use these anonymously to express concerns.
Objectives of the Grievance Redressal Cell
- To promote a responsive and accountable attitude among all stakeholders and maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere.
- To uphold the dignity of the school by ensuring a strife-free campus through cordial relationships between students and between students and teachers.
- To encourage students to express grievances freely and without fear of being victimized.
- To advise students to show respect and patience in situations of conflict.
- To discourage students from inciting unrest against peers, teachers, or the administration.
- To instruct staff to treat all students with care and avoid any form of vindictive behaviour.
- To strictly prohibit ragging in any form, within or outside the school campus. Any violations must be reported immediately to the Head of School.
Mechanism for Redressal of Grievances
The Grievance Redressal Cell is structured to address concerns related to:
- Academic issues
- Non-academic issues
- Assessment-related grievances
- Issues of victimization
- Attendance-related concerns
- Fee-related issues
- Examination procedures
- Harassment by fellow students or staff
The cell also addresses problems related to classroom management, syllabus completion, and teaching methods. Periodic meetings are held to discuss grievances and initiate appropriate action.
Procedure for Lodging a Complaint/observations
- Students may submit grievances in writing or via a prescribed format available in the administrative department, and drop it in the grievance boxes.
- Only complaints with relevant details and supporting documents about incidents on school premises will be considered.
- The Cell ensures resolution within a stipulated time frame.
Responsibility for Redressal/improvement
- The final responsibility for grievance resolution lies with the Head of School.
- The school is committed to resolving all grievances in a time-bound and result-oriented manner.
- The Grievance Redressal Cell regularly monitors the status of complaints and submits updates to the School Chairman.
Powers of the Grievance Redressal Cell
- Committee members are authorized to resolve issues through discussion with students.
- If the matter cannot be resolved at the committee level, it is escalated to the Head of School for final action.
- For serious complaints, thorough inquiry is conducted, and the school management takes immediate disciplinary action if necessary.
Exclusions
The Grievance Redressal Cell does not entertain the following:
- Scholarship, fee concessions, or awards-related decisions.
- Disciplinary actions or misconduct rulings by the school.
- Admission-related decisions.
- Results and assessment decisions taken by competent academic authorities.
