Safety and Security-Brief Overview
Gurugram Global Heights School, Dwarka Expressway, takes pride in providing a safe and secure environment for all its students. As is expected of any reputed institution, we pay special attention to safety measures within the school. Key features in this regard include:
Infrastructure
- Electrical panels and fittings are checked on a regular basis.
- Guards are stationed outside all the school gates 24 X 7.
- Visitor registers are maintained at the gate, and all visitors are issued visitor passes for security purposes.
- Young children up to Class V leave their classrooms in pairs, not alone.
- A female housekeeping staff member is stationed outside each toilet on all floors.
- At the end of each day, guards/lady guards/housekeeping/peons and supervisor check all classrooms, washrooms, and play areas to ensure no child is left behind.
- 120 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the school campus. The CCTV display is organized, with selective access to the Head of School and all Coordinators. The control room is located on the Ground Floor to monitor all 120 cameras throughout the day.
- A total number of 38 fire extinguishers have been installed in the school building at strategic places on all floors respectively.
Transport
- Nannies are assigned bus duty to ensure a safe commute for all students and there is a teacher in charge for each bus.
- If at all any student misses the bus/van, they are brought to the school office. The guardian is informed, and the child is seated at the reception or HM’s office until the parent arrives.
- CCTV cameras and GPS are installed in all School buses and monitored by the Transport In charge.GPS tracking is also available to the parents.
Ongoing efforts to further strengthen safety and security on campus include:
- Regular training sessions/mock drills are conducted for school students and staff to provide hands-on training in the use of fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and hodge pipes.
- The School Prefectorial Board also receive the training for the use of fire extinguishers.
- Police verification certificate of all support staff is mandatory. Police verification for teaching and administrative staff, as per CBSE guidelines, are strictly complied with.
- Sensitization workshops on Child Safety and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, are conducted time to time. Staff are made aware of:
- Safety procedures in school
- Role alignment
- Handling of children
- Responsibilities towards children
- Relevant regulations and laws
- Provisions of the POCSO Act, 2012
- Legal implications under the POCSO Act
